Mine Lab are  somewhat Tight Lipped on anything they make or made.  How about a Photo of what your talking about.  Is it the Amplifier that toasted ?

These are pretty straightforward to repair but there are 2 versions.
The most common parts that fail (all to do with audio failure and/or no go) are circled

Clueless on MineLab stuff.   Boy I would do a work around on that crappy set up.   Power the Detector Direct and use independent Audio Amp.

Wonder why in ell they went that route ?

Its actually a pretty basic setup that reduces the need for an external amp.

The circuit is basically 2 sections.

1: A LiPo balanced charger with charge monitoring, over voltage and current protection. Maybe a little over designed but as a rule it generally works well.

2: A basic amp circuit with a sense circuit that detects when a speaker is connected as against headphones. The sense circuit is completely dependent on how the headphone/speaker plug is wired.

The power supplied to the detector goes direct from the battery via a power mosfet. The mosfet is only switched on when there are no faults detected - I gather this is to protect the detector from battery faults or protect the battery if the detector/power cable shorts.

Looks like someone has made a bit of a mess with the soldering.

R31 is 150 ohms
