Does anyone have experience using silicon sealer or something similar under plastic coil covers.  I recently had the occasion to remove one of my coil covers (experiencing excessive chatter on MD) and discovered the coil cover had a considerable build up of very fine sand under the cover.  I can't help but think this is not a good thing.  I always give my detector a fresh water rinse after each use. However, removing the cover each time is not a realistic option.  Does anyone have suggestions or ideas?

Laugh if you want but it works.     Fill the Gap between Cover and Coil with tooth paste.   Just use warm water to remove.

Wow, who would have thought.  I'll give it a try.  Thanks!
