Is this a pretty good detector for all around detecting? I like to search for coins, but I also would like to find some jewelery. I was thinking of building one and was curious about opinions from someone who has used it. Thanks, Rob

Hello Rob . The Tesoro Bandido II umax is a VLF silent search motion discriminator with manual ground adjust .  A very good all around metal detector . The machine is great for coins and relics and yes it can detect Gold Rings !! The detector that replaced the Bandido II umax which is now discontinued , is the Tesoro Eldorado Umax . The Tesoro Bandido II Umax is a good mid-range machine that originally sold for around $439. u.s. dollars  . If you do not buy one , Yes it is a good metal Detector to build .

Hi,

Ok, got warning about being old thread etc, (120 days), but thought was right category to ask.

Has anyone done any mods, like for adding screen display etc. simple display, or something like the Deleon model or other?

Hello,
I'm new on this forum, and I have some questions about this metal detector.
I want to buils one fo myself.

1. Where I can find good PCB lay for Bandido II uMAX Metal Detector ? ( with Part list etc... )
2. Can I use fabric Tesoro coil or better will be DIY Coil ?
3. Can you say me something about this machine?
4. From I read this machine is very good for Coin and Relics ?

Or, What tesoro detector will be better to build ? For Coins , Relics , Jewery ?

Cheers from Poland,
Konrad
