Go Up Go Down

I have a Tesoro Tejon. I don't use it much, but the other day when I got it out all it did was to produce a constant tone. Nothing I did, except turn it off, made any difference.
Batteries good, coils connected. Where to look?

Where do you live?

The most likely cause of a constant tone is a broken coil wire. Or a dead battery.

well the battery is good. I do not have a schmatic showing the coil connection, but i only have continuity between 2-4. 1-3 is open and i am assuming there is two coils.
OK, now the question is how do I open up the coil housing as it appears like the wire is broken. Connections at the connector are OK.

that side looks good. Nothing looks loose or broken but it is seals with something so I may be hard to tell. I guess I may as well redo it. It is cheaper than a new one if it works.

Huh? I don't have anything attached to the "tab", but if I did, wouldn't it be the shield and not the center of the red line?

OK, from the looks of that wire, it is either right at the connector or inside the coil. That wire isn't going to break in the middle. and it isn't st the connector or close to it. So where do I find my best option for a replacement?

may be too late now but first you should try a known working coil and if that works.

thks
the open coil is the TX at ~4 ohms. The good one is Rx at ~ 65 ohms. There is no doubt the line is open and it isn't around the connetor. So without destroying the integrity of the coil there isn't much I can do. I ordered a new Tesoro 11x8 WS.
