I bought a working 1220 fisher on e bay. A friend decided to resolder a battery clip, and I know at least one cap is fried.I have a schematic from Fisher. Wondering if someone could take a chance trying to repair. Payment in fiat or trade, Thank you ,, [nono]cordially Nad

Hello Nad . You should have posted the 1220 schematic here on our forum and it would have been fixed already !!!!! And you could have posted a clear digital photo of the circuit board top and bottom side , here on our forum . There is no schematic on the internet yet for the Fisher 1220 only the 1225x . You are the first person I know to have a schematic for that "lunchbox" 1220 . This issue could have been solved a long time ago !!!

Regards................Eugene

You must use heat-sinks when working of delicate (small wires/circuit boards) equipment.  But of course you know this now, I'm sure.
Possibly you can find a similar cap or one that can be modified for use, in a second hand store.  I have found old pieces of electronics that I have pirated parts off of very cheap in these types of stores.  Also at yard sales too.  Good luck!

I saw you post, and was wondering if you could tell me where on line I could search to possibly find a schematic for a Whites 4900 D Pro Plus.  I don't even know what year this fine old detector was manufactured, though I can simply view it and realize it was made sometime in the 70's.

Being a Fisher Detector fan and living a few miles away from the office in El Paso I can tell you they do excellent work and are very fast. I would give them a call. I hunt with those guys every chance I get, they are super bunch.
