Sometimes you also don't have to contradict a moderator just for the sake of it. We have corresponded by PM. So your point is moot.

And there are more than two battery configurations. Mine has 8 Sub-C NiCads.

Conan sent me pics and i see that his system is clearly sure NOT 8 sub-C Ni-Cads.
and yes, 3 plugs for 6F22 type 9V battery are there.
so the issue:
1. or, to use car adapter converter 12V DC to 110V AC, plus the Garrett charger 24V DC output. i had gave a link above on the adapter.
2. either, to use DC-DC STEP UP converter.

Looks like I have to rectify NE555 to make sure is not a typo error he has made to confuse the subject
Even do I clearly stated so many times that the Garrett AC Charger has the output of 24v AC AC AC not DC
Never mind what it does inside to rectify to DC volts the Charger is AC output 24volts
I don't know but if someone had a Garrett Pulse AC charger maybe they are the same AC AC Output like the VLF
The VLF System runs on Three nine volt batteries 2 for the Circuit and 1 for the Audio
Something I have to check when I have more time and that is
VLF runs one 9v battery for Audio so that's 9 volts (mention in the VLF XS500 XL500 Manual)
And two 9v batteries for the circuit maybe and most likely in Parallel to last longer so that's 9v also
They are not added up for a total voltage
So as mention by Golddigger maybe they are all the same car chargers for Pulse and VLF model
He is going to find out from Garrett on Monday and I thank you for that
I always seem to start up unknown topics even do they look simple
It's only a matter of curiosity of the unknown parts and accessories made by Garrett
But the simple solution mention by NE555 is using a 12v inverter with 110v AC output
So you can still use the original Garrett AC charger
But to clear the subject will be good to know what Garrett has made back then
1- We know the VLF AC charger specs as shown on photo
2-What does the AC charger in the Pulse one use? Is it the same etc?
3-The Pulse Car charger looks like because you have one Golddigger is 12v
4-The VLF Car charger for VLF we don't know but most likely it's the same one (Probably part number 16709)
Finally thanks again to Golddigger he will get the answers from the Garrett older Tech fellows
Thanks to all

You might be right. On the other hand, most people don't lose their chargers on a system that has a sealed battery compartment.

I will be calling Garrett today to find out for certain what is needed. As has been noted, there are definitely more than one battery configuration to that series of detectors meaning that there are probably many charger vatiations too. Since this model has been discontinued, perhaps they will be more forthcoming with official schematics not hand drawn schematics by an amateur doing reverse engineering.

Anyway, in a mere 7 hours, I may have an answer.

Of course it will be. I do not give out bad information. If Garrett tells me, you will be getting the information. And, since it is not your machine in need, maybe you should just sort of watch this space and see instead of casting doubt on those who are helping.

I'm now waiting for a return call from Garrett but while I was on hold elsewhere, I found this. This company in Australia (of all places) has one left of your charger. I will send it to you via PM rather than put the link here. Later, if you buy it, I will put the link here but if I send it to you via PM, nobody can scoop you by ordering it. Check your box.
