NE555 that circuit you posted is from the PI version.   My bet is the XL / XS 500 VLF is a Cousin to the AT3.   They both use three 9 Volt batteries but the AT has NO on board charging facilities.

Both VLF,  15 Khz, ....      The AT uses two batteries in series for 18vdc that may be the reason for the 24volt.   In order to charge the single 9 volt is just a Zener.   The Automotive charger may be as simple as a Voltage Double,  Diode and Cap.

Notice the PI Version has Steering Diodes to Protect Reverse Polarity and Direct to battery Via Head Phone Jack.?  All other voltage comes from Battery.

Conan does not wish send me pics of the board, i am not able say you more, Homefire. I have AT3 schematic and it does not have a charger circuit.
its all i can say you now.

PS. Notice the PI Version has Steering Diodes to Protect Reverse Polarity and Direct to battery Via Head Phone Jack.?  --- please open my thread
on Barracuda and find out what you try me tell on my schematic. I am in electronics from 14 years old so I do not need in additional teaching. I am now 54 years old BTW.

He doesn't want to open his waterproof box so he can't send you pictures. Not only that but he has now found a cable so there is no longer an issue.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

To clear things up I stated the AT did not have the charging circuit.

It's done. It's over. He has what he needs. Let it go, mate. Let it go.
