Hello mdiede57. Nice Work so far !!!! Maybe later you can get a crystal clear shot of the audio section of picture # 2 ....If a panel meter is to be installed it will probably be a 100 ua or 1 ma for full scale deflection and probably be installed in parallel with 1/4 watt resistor right before the 1st stage audio stage transistor . I am checking similar schematics with a meter to see what the resistor value might be . This way you could see the intensity of the target signal .

I'll take better pictures, and turn the flash off. hopefully that will help, also.
Unless you have other ideas how to get a clearer picture

Hello . Right before the final audio transistor should be an opamp like a LM324 or equivelent . If not , we can not do the modification !!  If the chip is there ,  You will need a panel meter , 1N4148 diode and a 1 k ohm variable resistor for the meter zero-adjust .
Regards..............Eugene

Hello . Years ago was an instruction manual from the company that manufactured the Sniffer/XR71 . All that is posted on the internet now is an old Brochure /price list / specifications in German and English . And even that is hard to find . I will look again when I have spare time for some kind of instructions !!!
Regards.........Eugene
