What model do you have?

Garrett has the schematic locked up in Fort Knox some place.

Some Reverse Engineering is available.

It's kind of odd that schematics have never surfaced. Until recently, Garrett had repair centers in a variety of places and not one of them ever gave up the information. I did find a single page of an 8 page schematic (it said Page 1 of 8 on it) once at a garage sale in among some old maps in Kentucky. It was for the battery circuit on a Deepseeker. It was a copy of an original blue line drawing.

Seben not working looking on ebay for a bargain

Go Up Go Down

Hello all,

I have been away for a while, health  reasons.
Anyway back again and I am still looking for the schematic diagram for a seben I bought on Ebay. It never fired up and the company in Germany required that I send it back at my own expense. From Australia, by registered post that would have cost me $80, 2 thirds of the price. They did send me an offering, it was a battery charger with a foreign plug and a bag. I took it as a lesson learnt and now have a White's GMT in transit. I am still determined to fix the seben but need the schematic diagram, parts list and an image of the board. If anyone can assist I will be very grateful.

The Seben machines have always been considered so low end that it's doubtful anyone has made a reverse engineered schematic from one. Where in Oz do you live? Perhaps there's a chance to fix it based on its simplicity. Infant mortality in electronics is almost always electronic but the largest cause of failures after the manufacturer's testing is mechanical.

Do you have any test equipment at hand? Any friends who do?

Under German law, you pay to send it back and they must reimburse you if the unit cost more than ?40....
regards
Andy (someone who lives in germany!)

10 minutes later
PS.I just looked on German ebay and the cheap ones are ?29,99, so yes you will have to pay to send it back, sorry......

Hey GoldDigger,

I am in Tasmania, been here a while  and love the place.

I am a learner in electronics, but isn't everyone?

Free energy, now that would be a discovery; no money in it though.

I have all the equipment I need, I have experience in etching and a quite few solder burns.

Thanks Paul,

I'll take a look but wondering if there's anything in the archives here.

Guess I'll have do some searching.
