Did this today.  IT WORKS !   Had to weld the Strut Backets on the wifes Mustang.   Welding Rod was just a bit of Coat Hanger dipped in water and Borax.  This could get you home .

Had to do that once in the desert for a VW bug tie rod. Front end. Got me home, all right. And I was driving the chuck wagon, too.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Who would think it would work so well.  All you need is some Jumper cables and a Second battery.  Be sure to hook up the Neg to the Rod.  Weld Flowes.  Other wise you get a bunch of spets and a Mess.

I had no Welding Helmet, eye protection.   Had to look the other way but did ok.   Leather gloves helped.  I could feel what was going on.  Heard the Buzz and pulled the rod around the shaft.  Came out pritty dang good.
