Next summer's too long away! I'd bring in a road crew, excavator and a 10 wheeler dump truck to "install" some cement culverts at that spot...and take away the ore. Heck we'd even help Homefire change his flat tire so he could be on his way fast! Grin Grin Grin

Lol hobby! A culvert placement was in my way of thinking not to long after finding this vein lol. It is funny how a prospectors mind works. All I know is it is nice outside and instead of working at this job I wished I was out prospecting!

There sure is gambol1. This vein just gives up little round balls of Gold with Silver and other Precious minerals in the mix but we are still on the surface. Next year as we go deeper I am almost sure its going to change for the positive! Folks that have seen our specimens are inmpressed with the colors to it and I am jonesing due to the fact photos are not near as pretty as seeing in with your own eyes.

When I lived in Rabun County, I worked with an electrician that found some nice size nuggets when he was hand digging a well on his property. When he tried to mine it he got into trouble with the Forest Service because they were afraid he would contaminate a creek that ran between his property and the USFS land. While I worked with him he was not able to mine it but at some point he just went ahead and mined it anyway. I heard that he sold the soil to someone  for "fill dirt" and the forest Service didn't stop him. Gold is where you find it! Cheesy

gambol1 thats a great story about the well digger. I still do not see how dirt can contaminate a stream lol. karl thanks for your input on that find and also the congrats! I am tangling with more then I can handle in this vein as I am always messing with the material we have got from that place. I have to admit Gold is more then where I find it as its in my dreams too anymore Smiley

I have to show the world my puzzle that has came along with the top of this vein Joni and I stumbled on. I do not know how to set a price on something this rare. I keep these 3 pieces in bags at the bank in a lock box and do know there is no way to see the way the electrum got injected into the quartz. If anyone has an idea on how to price this I would love to hear it! Not that I am interested in selling it but you never know when hard times could come up or I may need some shaker tables or crushers to work this vein. In this photo there is some of the colors that got onto the side of the quartz rock as some of the chips of precious metals are falling off the inside. I did not want to wipe them off just for a few quick photos.
Enjoy!
