I find a 1945 silver Mercury dime!!!  I am shaking, I am soooo excited, and  I run inside to get my camera, and tell my clad-dropping kids----#1 son is telling me not to clean it, #2 son has no idea what it is, LOL.

You never forget your first.

Congratulations. Clean with warm soapy water only using your fingers and running water. Never polish them unless you are planning to make jewelry from it. After you check the value, of course.

There's something about a Mercury dime that still brings a little leap of joy into my heart. They are the most lovely US coin ever.
