At the end of 2007 en during 2008 we had th chance to metal detect in a garden of a house where Vincent van Gogh lived in Nuenen, the Netherlands. Actually it was his parents house. His father was a protestant minister in a mainly catholic village. Van Gogh stayed there from 1886 to 1888. He was very productive during this period. The most well known painting from Nuenen is "the Potatoe Eaters".

Lots of pieces of pottery

During our second hunt a guy was working on the sewers of the house. We say the sand that came out contained a lot of pieces of pottery, mostly dating from the last quarter of the 1800's. Several objects are used in van Gogh's paintings. We also found a lot of glass and a few clay pipes

During a large part of the research and the third and last hunt a documentary was made and available on DVD.
