While this may not exactly be my "Best" find...it is Definitely one of my more "Unusual" finds! I was hunting this little yard right at the Madison/Henry County line. I was looking under this big ole pine tree
...when all of a sudden the detector blared!...It said DIME...at 4 1/2 inches! I carefully used my hunting knife to cut about a 4 inch devot. When I removed the plug from the ground, what did I see laying centered right in the bottom of my hole? To my amazement...it was a perfect STONE arrowhead!?!?!?! I had pull the dirt off of it with my plug and left it just laying there like I had just placed it in the hole myself! I just sat there staring in disbelief momentarily. Finally I picked it up and waved it under the detectors search coil...and NOTHING! Not a Sound?
Now! I was really confused!?! Being a seasoned treasure hunter I made sure to scan my hole again before I replaced the plug. The detector once again said DIME at 4 1/2 inches! As I carefully probed around the outside edge of the hole...I found a 1918 Mercury Dime standing straight up and down!!! Wow! A two for one special! Because the dime was on its edge it through off the phase angle of the reflected signal and caused it to pinpoint in the the wrong place....But NO complaints here!!! I'll take a 2 for 1 any day! What is the chance of that!?!?!?
