WW1 Medal
(1/1)
Bulldog:
Another of my "favourite finds" is the WW1 medal that I found in a field in Surrey, S.E. England. I found it 10 years ago and since then I have tried many times to locate the solidier's family so that I could give it back. The MOD told me that nearly all the WW1 records were lost in the Blitz of WW2, - the regiment that the soldier was in, has been disbanded and all in all I have been, thus far, totally unable to trace the man's family. I'll keep on trying, you never know, one day I may be able to give it to it's rightful owner(s)

Pgill:
Looks like the WWI general service medal, these were given to all the people who had been up the front lines. Nice find, hope you find the family.
God bless
Peter

Poseidon-Jim:
Myself being a USMC veteran enjoy Militaria finds of all sorts, but especially the issued WW1/WW2/Korean/VietNam war medals that are stampled & signed both here in the USA and by you other gents in our allied nations.
Well done,
Jim
