An amazing underwater City discovery

Hello All

Is this an amazing discovery of natural formations or the even more amazing remains of an ancient neolithic city sunk below the waves off the coast of the southernmost islands of Japan?

It was discovery by dive operators as far back as 1987 but kept quiet about the find. Until news of the alleged sunken ruins was leaked out by an eminent Japanese History professor who believes that this site in one of many in the region.

Scientists are in hot dispute over the claims claiming it is a geological formation. However the Professor maintained Neolithic artifacts have been found on the islands and highlights similar structure on dry land used as ritual sites in neolithic times. I wounder how many will be claiming it as part of the lost Continents of Mu or Lemuria lost in seismic activity of times past?

Natural or made made?

Truly amazing either way anyway.

Hardluck

great post, thanks buddy, been mean to put this one out there also, therea been a history channel special on this(shown a few times a year)much debate over this, something about no right angles that make it seem natural and no pottery or any else except for the (stages, faces carved in stone).one theory is that is just fallen rock,if you see the rock formations above water there all pretty much straight and flat.when the discovery channel divers/photografers saw it they said theres no way its natural.man made or natural?   You are not allowed to view links.

Idaho Jones:
Thanks for sharing those photos Hardluck and thanks Bomber for the link.

Problem of the fallen rock theory is where did it fall from? if it's a product of erosion why all the straight lines? Living in a lava filled desert I have seen some interesting formations that are hard to imagine how they formed. Nothing close to the straight lines on these blocks though. Very interesting stuff.

Some other interesting things have turned up off the coastlines in recent years. The sunken cities off India, Cleopatra's palace and the lighthouse in Alexandria, the megalythic structures (for lack of a better term) that Paulina Zelitski found off Cuba at 2000'. That last one has kind of disappeared off the radar so it's questionable, but not debunked.

All those point to either a shift in the plates or an influx of water from somewhere. All that makes it hard to write off these megalyths as just natural accidents to me. I think it's the probable age of these structures (if they are) that keeps them from being taken serious, thou shalt not have civilization before 3500 bc  ;)

Fun stuff!

Attached is a picture of a natural lava formation that looks as if it was man made (at least to me) but this one is mighty high and dry  ;D

the fallen rocks are the formations are above water,if you see the program its shows the the above rock is similar to the rock below, rocks fall into the water(and these suckers are huge)and it looks like a platform or "stage"as its called, one of the scienctist(con) talked about no "right angles" making it natural.these also small holes(about 1/2 dollar size)that are shown on the stage, some say man made, others say microbs.......hard to say.....another article from national geographic        You are not allowed to view links.

Idaho Jones:
Thanks Bomber,

I tend to lean towards the 50 50 margin. Natural monuments utilized by someone and terraformed. Of course I don't buy into the mainstream dates for humanity at all, never have. Every day new evidence comes to light to push back time only to be poo pooed by academics holding on to status quo.

Hello All

I agree with Idaho Jones. I am not 100% convinced either way. It is all too easy for the established science to write anything off if it confronts the status quo. It seems a little threatening to long held western beliefs that that the cradle of civilization formed in the west. Sadly lacking is data from Asian neolithic research in which most western scientific do not have understanding of the language to study properly.

However that said. It is all a little  too easy to claim the site as neolithic without supporting evidence to confirm the claims. I have seen personally in Peru evidence of small scale Terra Forming and in Zimbabwe with artifacts usually pottery both were neolithic cultures but existed around the 12-14th century. Not far back as 3000 years or so.

Idaho Jones:
Good point Hardluck, my grumbling was more over the natural or not claim than the dating.

I'd have to wonder what brought about the date on the site? It is puzzling to say 3000 years when there isn't any hard evidence. I did read something about tools being found there but no pictures that I saw. Perhaps that is an estimate of when the site was above water?

All I know is too much coincidence usually equals no coincidence   :D

Interesting thread Guys I'm by no means an expert in the matter but if I were to stumble upon something like this I'd be sure that it was man made. Truly amazing stuff
