"A U.S.-led research team may have finally located the lost city of Atlantis, the legendary metropolis believed swamped by a tsunami thousands of years ago in mud flats in southern Spain. . . . To solve the age-old mystery, the team used a satellite photo of a suspected submerged city to find the site just north of Cadiz, Spain. There, buried in the vast marshlands of the Dona Ana Park, they believe that they pinpointed the ancient, multi-ringed dominion known as Atlantis."

Very interesting. While I won't hold my breath that this is the one, it's always interesting to see new mysteries unvieled though even if not.

Thanks Sue!

Regardless of the validity of the story of Atlantis, it is never the less an interesting read. It would be a phenomenal discovery, but I remain unconvinced. However, the child in me is very giddy over this possible discovery. Thanks for the news link Sue.

Cheers

Sean

Not a big believer in Atlantis as a lost continent but do believe the possibility of it being a lost civilization this seems to be a whole new track hope they find something.

That area is interesting not only because of Gibraltor but also the Basque and Iberian connection theory.

Hello Idaho, I'm not up to date with the Basque & Iberian theory. Can you give us an update.

I remember watching some doco a while back and it was about the birth of the Mediterranean sea. The story goes the area was flooded out I think about 10- 15000 years ago. the area was below sea level, and was suddenly flooded with a massive wall of water when the strait of Gibralta was Born. This could be the event that was responsible for the legend for the lost city of Atlantis.
