Judging by the dimensions they are either neck scarves or table runners. How thick are they?

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

ecobalance;

You got a hobby weaver, here, been a long time but.... have not done that for a looong time... its too slow!

(My sister is drooling over your pictures and getting my shoulder all slobbery Lips Sealed.) These are meant to be stitched together, into one blanket. Many home-made hand looms are narrow but easier to keep correct tensions, so when a weaver makes something like this, its a non-stop project.

Its a puzzle as to why it was never finished (its very obviously hand made), perhaps the weaver had some misfortune and could not finish it. I think you have something special!

I can tell you what it is but not who/where it was made, it looks like Zuni design, I will venture to say (but I may be wrong.) What is your general location?

Go back to the book store and look more!  Detecting

ecobalance;

Yes, that is almost as good as the story about the guy that drank tea all night and was found the next day.... drowned in his ..... teepee.

Well, I had a good hunch, what they were and had to have my sister verify as she is the fabric expert, here. I just know more about weaving than fabric/textiles. How-to not what-is.

Look for more.

Happy New Year To You !
 I just read your article a saw the pictures of the blanket. It is similar to the Arapaho or Navaho's tribal blankets! They are truly beautiful! Great Find! If you want to sell it let me know if not ,create a picture frame , gold hue on wood , and mount it on your wall!
 Thanks Again!

Decorative faux Navajo "hallway" rugs made in new mexico or mexico.  I need clear well lit close up picture of the ends to tell for sure.
