Hi, my tesero cipola has only been used 3hr. since I bought it 3 years ago. I was injured at that time so I wasn't interested. I turned it on a few days ago and it worked fine. Went through battery check ok and then went silent. I could then adjust the knobs and go looking. The I tried it again and when I turned it on it beeped like normal then went to a constant loud tone like it would if I had the pin pointer on a large metal object. Constant, wont stop and the machine wont work. I tried new good alik batterys tried installing them whit the device on, off, all knobs to off, then to on. The only thing I didn't do was install the battery reversed. I disconnected the the lead coming from the coil and it still did the same thing so the prob is in the box. I cant get the tone to change by passing metal over the coil. It is a loud steady, unchanging tone. Oh, I cleaned the battery box contacts, same thing. could there be a short in the Bat Chk circuit?

Any guesses? Anybody?

Check your coil wires, too. If it goes away when you wiggle them near the coil of near the connector, that might be your problem. A broken wire will cause that.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
