Hello Kath!

Welcome aboard! Oh! The GPX4500 must be a really great and powerfull nugget shooter. Have you had any of the earlier GPX models? If yes doyou think it is a big improvement over the older models?

Best wishes,

Christian

Hi CD.... yes hubby & i were discussing about Hugh & it all fell into place!! They are both very well known as you say.Did not know about Hugh's order of Australia so we must have been detecting at that time.

Hi Tabdog..thanks for the welcome but do tell...where is ARKIE land??  We can't work that one out!!

Thanks Tyler for your welcome, are you detecting & which is your state?

Hi Christian & thanks to you, Yes the detecting is my passion!! The other GPX I had was the 4000 & it also was wonderful, hated parting with it BUT decided to keep up-grading or may get left behind & YES I find the 4500 is better on the small gold & also better depth...a lot depends on what coil we use..with any machine. We test, first finding what sounds like a nug & then swapping coils to hear different responses.

Cheers,
Kath

G'day Kathy, I am in South Aussie but spend most of our winters in W.A.  Last year I upgraded to the GPX4500 and spent 8 weeks in the goldfields for 413 pieces weighing 22 ounces, most small but one nugget just under 9 ounces so its still out there.  I also had the X-Terra 70 with me I gave it a few tries but never did any good. The 4500 is certainly the way to.
I missed out this year as I have had a Hip replacement, but next year !!!
Good luck, I hope you find the big one.
Regards, Brian
