I started detecting back in 1983 with a Whites coinmaster while living in Tucson AZ,  I use to go out every weekend, loved it.  I then moved to Abilene Texas and in 1994 I purchased a Eagle Spectrum, I loved that machine and used it all the time and found 100's of coins, I then got transferred to Pennsylvania in 1998, my home state, health started to slow me down, but whenever I could I like to go out. then I stopped about 2007,  my health has improved somewhat and my Wife bought me a Whites SPECTRA V3i Metal Detector for Christmas, have not got out to try it yet, but am looking forward to finding somewhere around the NorthEast part of the state.  any clues where to go  Also has anybody used this machine and how to you like it and what tweaks have you done to improve your odds? Fight

Hi Chas. Welcome from Connecticut and right now Florida. I used to hunt old coal mine towns house foundations. Most of that was in W PA but up in your neck of the woods there ought to be similar sites in the anthracite coal zone. Up 209 from Stroudsburg to Milford had tons of old resorts. Most of that area is now National park so you would have to look just above Stroudsburg before the park starts.

Thank you for the welcome,  I am doing quite a bit of research now on old parks that have vanished in the last 50 to 60 years.  I live in the coal mine region of PA, Many homes that were along the river have been torn down due to flooding, that I hope to check out,  I am hoping that I can figure out this new detector,  My Eagle Spectrum was easy compared to this one.

I started detecting in 1977 when I was in college.
Lately I have had some leg issues. My right leg hurts and I have to limit my beeping time to about 2 hours.
Just get out there and dig. It's not how much time you spend detecting , it's what you find.
 Keep on digging them up.
 HH Arturo
