Hi all,

Just discovered this place looking for information about metal detecting.

Looking to build a metal detector to use underwater, I scuba dive primarily in ontario, so freshwater mostly.  I am an amateur radio operator and have built xceivers in the past, I'm not an EE but can follow a schematic and wind toroids Smiley

What detector would you guys recommend?  If it's got a UC, prefer Atmel or Arduino if possible, but open to pretty much anything.

Thanks

Richard

I'm also a ham operator, semi-retired EE with several detector designs under my belt. Welcome aboard. We do have a large download section and plenty of information in our archived messages. The downloads will be available to you after 5 posts but the archives are all here for you to read. You'll need a few free months to get all caught up.

Enjoy.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I am not sure a few months is enough to get caught up, but you got to start someplace =)

Dedicate a little time to learning how to use the Advanced Search feature at the top right of the screen. The advanced allows Boolean searches which can get you more accurate responses. Useful for when that inevitable question pops into your head that someone here has already asked and had answered.
