New here, from Port Orchard wa. I am new to the board and pretty new to Metal Detecting. This is something I've wanted to do for a while but didnt seem to have the time. I'm trying to get out 2-3 time a week now, at least while we have good weather.

Anybody else from washington state want to share thier hunting sites and experiences with me. I'm an open to listening and even meeting up to hunt.

MrSimpson,

Thanks some day I would like to come to Germany. Its one of a few countries I did not get to visit while in the navy. I would like to research my last name WARMOTH, just to find out a little about my heritage. And of course hunt.

Hay Scoot,

Welcome to the forum. I live in Arkansas.

Let me ask,,,, What kind of things do you want to hunt for?
You are in a great place to find jewelry.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

Welcome aboard ScootPirate! I've hunted Port Orchard back in the '80s and it was loaded with history. A charming little burg, as I recall. There used to be a clam shack style restaurant on the long curve towards Bremerton nestled in the foothills along the bay. They had the world's best New England style clam chowder I ever have tasted. The name escapes me right now. A couple of friends of mine, Gary and Elaine used to own it back then. Elaine was full blooded Eskimo. She and Gary met when he was in Alaska on the gold fields there.

I used to frequent the Fleet Reserve Club in Bremerton now and again and there was a guy there, probably long gone, who could tell you every owner of every old home in Bremerton. He could tell you how long they owned the house, when it was built and who the owners were from the first day. It was a hobby of his - he loved the look of the houses. He was a history buff and spent hours and hours researching local homes. Retired Navy and crusted with salt.

Washington has it all. Gold in small quantities, settler sites and beautiful old parklands. You sure picked a great place to hunt! Good luck, mate!

Hello ScootPirate!

Welcome abord! Well if your last name is WARMOTH than this is likely a modified spelling of Warmuth. Most Warmuth are located in the county of Franken / Bavaria from what I know and this is actually where Mr. Simpson resides.

Best wishes,

Christian

Hi from Minnesota! Does the "scoot" in ScootPirate  mean ya ride?
I try and get out as much as possible, after work and weekends, as the season will be short here in the Midwest! I'm new as well, and havin' a blast!
