Tabdog,  Thats cool, they say ya gotta dig tabs to get gold and jewelry... as for da bass thats cool as you get older you will probably get back into the bass. I like Dogs they are are pretty cool, i've had a couple in my life that I will never forget. My first dog was a Sheapdog, the last was a cocker spaniel, both were exceptional and I miss them.

Treasurehunter, i checked out the group. Yea it looks like it is growing rather slow. But I am game for a trip to OShores. I just bought a parcel of land out there about a block and a half from the water on North Jeti drive. Eventually I see myself building a little place there and selling my home in Port Orchard.  I do like to spend time out there and I think the beaches would be fun to hunt.

Hey ScootPirate!

Welcome to the forum.  I think there is some really useful information here and more than a few dedicated detectorists.  Let us hear about your finds.

I am a newbie too.  I live in the Willamette Valley, Oregon.  Just learning my Garrett Ace 250.  Tried some on the Oregon beaches.  Found a lot of bottlecaps and iron junk.

I'm hoping to do some research and find a Double Eagle Gold coin somewhere here in the PNW.  There's a lot of history here.  Oregon Trail, Lewis and Clark, Goldrush, Riverboats, etc.

Tomorrow I am hunting the gravel bars in the Willamette River near Eugene.  Wish me luck!

Rambledog

Rambledog,
Definately good luck. I went to a elementry school for an hour this evening and got .53 cents.... woohoo...  I am still learning my ACE as well. I have a GTI 2500 that I use primarily.  I would love to hit some of the old gold & silver mining townd that are no longer in use. Maybe before the end of summer. I'd also like to hit eastern washington's deserts a little. Let me know if you ever find a double eagle....I bought one a few years ago when gold was not anything close to what it is now.

Go Up Go Down

Rambledog;

Hi... just have to ask you, do you live in the Willamette Valley?

I have relatives there and in the Methow Valley, by name of Stone. My great great and great grandpa, both,  settled there, in the late 1800s. Some went to the Methow, too, because they did not like the willamette, I guess... or it was getting too crowded. Funny

My dad was down there  (Methow,) to visit relatives, in 1951, and I have not heard a peep since then.

I guess I should say, I am in northern BC... Dawson Creek. My grandpa and grandma left the Methow area, in 1906 and came into BC. Her maiden name was Stone... Isobel M. Stone.

I had some relatives at Mapleton, one time (Hollenbeck.) ALL of them travelled on the famous Oregon Trail. (A bunch of them from Texas, too.) That Oregon Trail could be good detecting, in places.

Be nice if some of the Stones were on the forum.

goldigger (Brian)
