Hi LilDave,

Welcome to tha forum.

They recently made me a moderator
here.

I have been meanin ta call you.

The problem is that I got jumped
by a druggie while I was metal
detectin.

I have been trying to recover for
weeks now.

In tha mean time I have been in
too much pain to get back with you
and go huntin.

Believe me, I am very interested.

I am starting to get better, but so
far all I can do is short hunts.

I will try and stay in touch,

Tabdog

Thats for parks.

Hello and welcome to the forums!!

Tabdog,
  I have been looking around at some handguns for personal protection.  I live in a small community, but we still have crooks and criminals running about.  I really just would like to have one handgun, what would your suggestion be? Thanks.

May MI,

I like tha little 32 auto darranger because it is so
small I can put it in my pocket and it does not hurt
or show the out line of a gun.

I also have a Kel-Tec that shoots 9mm lugar.

The new 9mm Kel-Tec is thinner. It has a single
stack clip with 7 rounds.

I believe that to be tha smallest and easiest to
carry auto pistol to use 9mm auto.

It is not tha easiest gun to shoot however. It has
a hard trigger pull and a short barrel.

There are several very small auto pistols that shoot
the less potent 9mm auto. They are even smaller,
but not as small as my darrenger. It just weighs
10 oz and is all steel.

This will give you a size relationship. Not many hand
guns will fit in a box tha size of a Red Book,

{alt}

Here is tha Kel-Tec. one of tha smallest autos to shoot
9mm lugar,

{alt}

Here is my Hungarian made 45APC. It is a little smaller
than a Colt 1911,

{alt}

In revolvers, Tha Charter Arms makes about tha smallest
38 special, 5 shot revolver.

But I love and have confidence in my little Colt Police
Positive Fourth Addn, six shooter.

It is tha sweetest pistol I have ever shot,

{alt}

I think that darrangers have tha edge on consealibility.
They are only a gut buster and attention getters, but
a good defenceive tool.

Wow, that is a lot of choices to pick from.  I would probably have to go with the 32 auto Darranger though first of all.  Do you take different guns to different spots, or mainly just the Darranger?

I should add.

The darranger is a cheep Davis Industries gun That
I got at a pawn shop for $90 if I remember right.
I got a small case there with it for $5.

Tha Kel-Tec is about $250 new.

Tha AKC 45 is about $275 to $300. Got mine for a
lot less a while back at a gun show.

Tha colt would probably run you at least $500, if
you can find one.

I got mine for $250. I rub it in every time I see
tha guy I got it from. He is a dealer.... lol
