Tesoro Silver Umax, Tesoro Golden UMax

Go Up Go Down

I am pretty new to metal detecting, just getting started with my son.  So far we have managed to detect our whole yard, and we have found some pretty interesting things.  Plenty of coins, nothing old to speak of though.  Also detected a property this past weekend which has a stone house which was built in the mid 1700's.  There was plenty of goodies to find there as well, and we managed some coins, although nothing real old.

I am currently using a Tesoro Silver UMax with the stock coil, and have had real good success locating "most" of the targets.  I have a pinpointer on its way now, and I will be getting a Golden UMax within a couple months, as my son has pretty much taken over the Silver.

Possibly going on a detecting trip with a local club up to an abandoned town, kind of excited about the possibilities there!

Not far from Gettysburg either, but I want to get better with my detector before I attempt getting permission at any of the farms in that area.

Thats about it from my end...just thought I would stop by and say hello!

LittleJohn

Hey, LittleJohn Welcome

The Gettysburg area seems like it would be a great area to hunt in.....so much American history has occured within a 3 hour drive of there that it can boggle the mind.....and you and your son have detectors made for the job.

Glad to have you here.

Welcome to the forum littlejohn! I'm about 45 minutes from Gettysburg in Carlisle. You ever been to Carlisle?

As a matter of fact I do go to Carlisle on occasion, every year for bike week.  Lots of history there as well.  Don't ya'all have a good sized detecting club there?
