I am in the 'real' Sonoran Desert: Mexico! Land of tarantulas, rattlesnakes & mean lookin' dudes guarding the local 'crop'!!

I retired, wore out my hammock, so now time to get on with some serious meteorite hunting! Looking to build a large coil PI detector I can hang off the bumpers/fenders of my pickup truck. Best of all worlds; Find big space rocks while driving around sitting on my a** and drinking a cold Pacifico. Grin Cool

The problem will come if I ever find one; no backhoes readily available here to go down 10 ft or so...but, it would be a good problem to have, LoL!

Thanks for the welcome!

No, no space rocks yet, and I am getting frustrated; too much ground to cover and it is just too dang hot to be out swinging a metal detector around for long! Need to find a strewn field area first and the best way IMO of doing that is to cover a big area in a more effective way than using a magnet on a stick or a detector.

I have some electronics background, so the kit the guy in Canada sells seems the best way to start and do some experimenting. The one I know of (Chemelec) is down as he was in the hospital for some major surgery, so looking for other options for parts, design ideas, and especially large coil ideas for PI. Smiley
