    Hello out there .........   
    I"am a newbie to this awesome hobby/sport. Now, my reason for this post is because I would love to find someone in the Yuma, AZ area that has metal detecting experience and would want to share with me some of that experience and to become a friend.
     The wife and myself are going to spend three months in Yuma area and I just ordered a Garrett AT Pro. Should be showing up next week. Today is 1/11/2012.
      I retired two years ago from Intel, Corp in Hillsboro, Oregon and now I found what looks to be a " Grate" way to spend quality time on the hunt as they say.
      Please respond if you enjoy company from time to time and want to teach this old Dog new tricks. I look forward to any and all replies.

Howdy, Navy Man.   I do believe you have ordered a good machine for the area, especially for a newbie.  You'll be able to do the things you want to do in that area with it, including nugget hunting.  There should be a metal detector club active in the Yuma area.  I'll do some digging and see if I can find some recent contact information for them (as opposed to the stuff on the web which might be out of date).
