Hi folks, my name is Glen S Fiddich but I'm commonly known as Glenfiddich (strange that don't you think ?) lol  Grin anyway I am from Edinburgh in Scotland and I stumbled upon this forum by mistake while looking for something on-line regarding repairing the female jack plug on my Tesoro Cibola which has come loose and as said already I am looking for away to repair it or rather to rewire it maybe when I stumbled across your forum  Cool Is this forum based in the U.S. or am I writing on home turf here in the UK ??

Anyway, just to put you in the picture about myself.....

I have been detecting for just over 12 years now and I use mainly my trusty XP Deus, I also own a Blisstool V3 and a Tesoro Cibola as well. I have several other hobbies including playing analogue synthesizers (mostly Korg's) I am also saving for a Clavia Nord Lead A1 which is a very nice machine, but then there are others too from Roland and I just can't make up my mind ??  Smiley I also have my own smallholding over in Krakow, Poland so spend quite a lot of my time there although my in-laws look after it mostly,  Wink I like fly fishing too, and have some other hobbies not mentioned but maybe one day I'll divulge a little more  Wink

I also run my own club called Glenfiddich's Border Reivers where we meet up regularly at various historical sites both sides of the Scottish and English Borders to detect on a Sunday and I raise money for charity at some of these digs which goes towards Cancer Research.

here are some of my best finds in the past couple of years.....

Decorated Viking silver hack (now with the Museum of Scotland)  Smiley
28 hammered medieval silver coins found on a field in the North of England both British and foreign struck  Smiley
Part of an Anglo-Saxon criciform brooch  Smiley
A 12th century bronze statue from the Norman period  Smiley
A scattered hoard of 45 Roman silver Denarius coins from the first century (Now with Treasure Trove at the Museum of Scotland)  Smiley
various hammered medieval coins including a recent find of a James V of Scotland Penny in "extremely fine" condition and which is rare  Smiley

Don't be shy Smiley I am looking forward to reading some good replies on this site

The Norman period statue is missing the arms as you can probably tell, but it was probably attached to a wooden cross as you can see the hole down at the feet and probably it was also attached at the hands too however the wooden cross would most most certainly have perished in the ground after nearly 1000 thousand years or maybe slightly less depending on when it was first lost  Shocked
