Hi all, I'm fairly new to detecting (about 3 months). I live in Victoria, fairly close to the so called Golden Triangle, so I've obviously got big ideas about finding the elusive "retirement nugget" some time in the future. Of course, I've discovered it's not that easy and the learning curve is fairly steep. I have a Nokta Fors Gold detector, which I am becoming fairly comfortable with now, but I haven't managed to find any gold yet. That's OK, I don't mind waiting for the magic moment and meanwhile, I'll just keep on searching and digging up those old miners tools and nails etc. I'll be going up to the Gold Coast this weekend for 10 days and I guess I'm going to have to confine my fossicking to the beaches. So to the crux of the matter. Is there anywhere within about an hour's drive of Burleigh worth trying? Not the beach, but maybe in the Hinterland etc.  Just wondering Smiley
