Hello I have a question please! I'm not an experienced M. detectorist. But I would like to ask whether you would buy a GPX 5000 or a Nokta Golden King DPR Plus if you had that Choice. Thank You

Personally I wound never spend that kind of money on a metal detector, having read some reviews it is the best for finding gold and all you need is one nugget for it to have paid for it's self, so I guess that it's just a question of choice, if you like it and you can afford it then buy it. Is the GPX better than the Nokta? once again I think that it all boils down to personal preferences.

You said that you are not experienced. For this reason, I would not purchase either of these detectors. At least not at this time. Are they good? Yes. Are they expensive? Yes! Many that start out in this hobby quickly discover that it is not for them and the metal detector they purchased sits in the closet unused. I think that you need to start with a mid-priced detector, use it and learn it. You may discover that a mid-priced detector is perfect for you or you may decide that the hobby is not for you or you may decide that you love the hobby and need a more expensive detector with all the bells and whistles. The high end detectors can be quite confusing to someone with little or no experience in the hobby. Find a club near you and join and GO to the meetings. Ask questions! Find someone that does have experience in the hobby and go detecting with them. Do not ever think that this is a get rich quick hobby as you WILL be let down. Go to the library and find some metal detecting books and read them. YouTube has many good vids on detecting. Visit metal detecting boards and read! Give it some time! The old saying 'fools rush in' is good to remember about this hobby!

Here is something else for you to think about,  if the gold nugget is larger enough any metal detector will find it, in others words you will only be needing an expensive detector to find the small nuggets that are buried deap in the ground.

Welcome to THunting.com.  I'm with all these other guys on this.  Personally I'd start with a Garrett AT-Pro/AT Gold or even a Tesoro Compadre (real simple, real reliable, and turns up suprisingly good finds for a very inexpensive detector).    Then I'd let whichever detector I started with pay for my next detector when/if I got to the point where I honestly thought my skill as a user was being limited by the capabilities of the detector rather than my lack of skill limiting the detector.
