Go Up Go Down

Hi everybody,

I'm Tabdog. I have been detectin a while.
First time was 44 years ago with a borrowed
BFO machine. We hunted relics. Found a
Model T in Pea Ridge Battle Field back when
it was legal to detect there.

Took it up again 25 years ago. Been on and
off until 2 years ago. I'm hopelessly addicted
now.

I have been using metal detectors for 30 years
to find survey corners and utilities. That was
as a registered land surveyor. I'm retired now.

I got to liken MD'in a lot after I retired, or, I
really became dissabled. But I can detect.

Hope ya don't mind puttin up with me,

Tabdog

Tabdog-
I like your display, and I  recognize the case... used to work in a print shop, during my younger self. Seen lots of type stuff for a linotype machine kept in one of those.

I want to ask you, do you know what those two pointy things are, on the top of the case? They look like something I've heard about but never seen. I hope you can confirm, else I don't know what they are.... hmmmmm. If you don't ask, you don't find out.

Hay Bryan,

{alt}

Tha two things on tha outside are artillery
fuse timers.

Next to those is probably what yur askin about.
That is two peices of one broken plate off an
old iron.

Tha thing in tha middle is an old Economist
Revolving Iron without tha handle.

There is an old leather punch and two 30 cal
bullets.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

Hi Tabdog and welcome! That's a nice display case. Finding survey markers - I've had people ask me to find theirs and it's not that easy. I didn't intentionally start looking for ours, but located them. First one was really deep, I didn't know what it was and was trying to excavate it until my husband checked to see what I was doing & stopped me. That got his interest so together we found the others on our property - measuring helped. Sue

Hay Sue,

Measuring sure does help.

It is a lot like yur
MDin.

You need to do yur
research to get yur
self in tha right
place to look.

That will help yur
success.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog
