Got the Idea from the wives toys while working on another basket coil.   Get you some of these CHEAP !  Different kits come with different sizes looms.  Wifes kit came with 5,7,9 and 11 inch looms.

I am new to prospecting and detecting. I am however passionate about electronics and coils capacitors and other such stuff.
Your basket weave coil designee is very forward thinking and I was surprised somebody had already thought about this type of coil as a metal detector. Shocked
This configuration is what I was going to build and test in the weeks to come. As tested some PI circuits that are already available. The configuration I wanted to try is the Rodin star ship coil.
Its ability to generate a torrid magnetic field could be the key targeting deep into the earth.  If anybody who reads this post has already tried this please post.

Another oddity in the works.  This one didn't do so well.  Not enough turns and uH.

8 inch needle point frame
12 turns
1.6 Ohms
250 uH
22 SWG

Thank you Christian and Team: I must apologise for my tardiness in responding - Spouse dragged me away from 'playing' during my recovery from the radiation treatment and have been on the high seas. Came back with a 'Lurgy' (i.e. a weird cold/flu) that has persisted for weeks.
In the meantime I have been trying to assemble all bits and supplementary info. needed for the project, a little bit of work here and there saves being bogged down and a chance to solve issues.
The Basketware sensor detector Koschey-51/IM coil specifications gave Inductance as 317mkGn - the 'mk' and 'Gn' are unknown on my Google search - do I read that as 317uH?
Regarding the lack of Ground Balance, and W.A.'s  hot-rocks and high mineralisation, the way I understand it, the SM Pi Pro Threshold has to be continually adjusted as we move. Thank you all

** We call that the Creeping Crud here.  Last way longer then a normal cold.

** Yes, mkGn is the Designation the Russians use for uH.

**  Pi Detectors handle Minerilised ground a bit different then a VLF.  Some what immune yet affected they are.  The Surf Pi does not have the Sampling Provisions to compensate too well for your grounds down yonder.  Your going to find it overloading  or blinded in some grounds.  The threshold can be lowered  only so far.  The Earth Signal is just going to overwhelm any target signals to be had in that case.
