  Looks like Quartz.  The Smokey Quartz is considered SEMI Precious.   Used for Rings and stuff.

If one knows where this quarts came from one may be able to metal detect for other minerals or even metals.  Idea

   Get us a Better Macro photo of the white stone.  Two angles under natural sun light please.  If there from Tanzania it could be something else.
