The only danger you need to worry about with homefire is filling your brain with really good information Crazy. I'm a wiseguy Idiot and only kid about Homefire. He has already pointed me to some places to visit in the southwest this winter. As far as I know he's a really good guy. As for my expedition, my wife and I went to the Lucky Strike Gold Mine for a couple days. We dug right out of the river and panned and sluiced what we dug. We didn't find a lot of gold, but for a first timer I was pleased just to find any. We also went to Thermal City Gold Mine for a few hours. We paid $5.00 each to dig out of their material pile in their panning area and found some gold there also. Honestly I've been quite surprised at my results; everywhere I've tried to find gold I have found some.
I don't know if it's beginners luck or just paying attention to the things I've learned through research. We had a great time, everyone we have met along the way has been super friendly, helpful and in a few cases I can't even describe how helpful and generous people have been. I will always recommend joining the GPAA, it's only $67.50 a year, you get access to their gold claims all across the country ( where they have them ), and even if you don't search for gold at all the membership will pay for itself with a three day camping trip. I cannot think of anyone I've met that I can say I wouldn't want to see again. I'm actually working on writing a book about my search for gold, the beautiful sights, and the wonderful people and friendships I've made along the way; so stay tuned.

You did good on what you've found.

I would love to find color like that every time I get out.

BUTT!   Taint the way it is.

You just never know.

I went out for about two months finding gold like that and one day I found 1/4 Ozt under this big ugly rock .

I can't wait til I can find a 1/4 oz of gold. I'm still weighing my finds in 10th pennyweight  Cry . If I found it all under the same rock I'd be like Cheesy . I don't care how ugly the rock was.

I'm not in it for the money yet, once I get a big pile of it well probably then. Right now I just want to find enough to have new wedding bands for my wife, and she'll know that we found that gold together.
