Hi All, I posted in February of this year about new detectors for my wife and son. I did not get the v3i but have been using the tesoro lobo supertraq. I have not found any gold with it yet but i have found at least 10 rings and probably 400 dollars worth of coins. 3 coins being silver. It's a great hobby and i wish i had more days of detecting and less working. Thanks

Well, Welcome back at THunting then! Actually I own both machines and can say that the Lobo Supertraq is an excellent machine - especially on small objects such as coins. Furthermore it is much more easy to use hence a better starter machine than the V3i. The V3i is probably better in some fields but also way more expensive and takes more time to learn.

I hope you will share some pictures of your finds with us.

Best wishes and take care,

Christian
