Hi Everyone,

Well this is my first post and I look forward to making many more.

I now own several Garrett detectors and really love them for reasons many of you who own them would agree, they just work and work well. My last couple of Garrett additions include the Ace350 and At Pro which were purchased from Kellyco and shipped to us in Australia quickly. Doris was excellent and the service was first rate. These were purchased to use together with a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 many to hunt beaches with the kids and get them interested in a great outdoor family activity.

I also own a much older Garrett Deepseeker VLF detector which we purchased new when they first come out, its been a great machine however over the many years the coils started to die one by one and I would love to get it back in action. The box and electronics work fine and are in excellent condition, just need new coils.

Does any know if I can use other coils or can I still get Deepseeker coils...?

I would be grateful for any advice or suggestions from forum members.

Regards  Smiley

Welcome from New Mexico.   Yes those coils show up for sale from time to time .  As a matter of fact, I'm looking for the older 5.5Khz for a lunch box deep seeker.  LOL!

Have you contacted Garrett?

They still Repair em and may have some.   I'm looking for a sniper coil.

Well Thanks Folks,

Its sure nice to get such a quick list of replies and your welcoming me to your group is very touching.

I am in the process of contacting Garrett and asking them what they can still do as I know this detector in its day was the best you could buy and still does the job, in fact my father is so used to it I'm not sure he would want to use any of the newer ones, regardless of weight and size  Cheesy .

I first met Charles Garrett in the 70's when I was young and the impression he gave me has never left me. Him showing off some Gold Nuggets helped a lot, however this is a guy that has done so much to help us explore to outdoors and as I stated before his products have always been first rate.

Opening a box with a new Garrett detector in it even today gets me very excited. I will soon add an Infinium to my stable of Garrett's along with the new Minelab GPX5000. Might even get to dust of my SCUBA gear and do some underwater searching  Detecting.

(Sorry would have sent this back earlier however just had the Neighbour (Sparky) over to wire up a new Hotplate so was held up.)

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know as many of you fellow detector heads as possible. We have some great Nugget country around us here so will let you know how we go. I'm very keen to use the AT Pro on some Nugget hunting. My wife has claimed the Ace 350 and kids will use Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505, mostly around the beaches.

Thanks again for the warm welcome and I hope I can make a good contribution to the group.

Thanks.

Any yes I'm very excited with both the Ace 350 and AT Pro.

My wife has adopted the 350 which was my hope when I ordered it. Its light weight which is a real bonus and also very very straight forward for a new comer like her to use.

She will get a good chance to use it in a few days when we hit the Sydney beaches as will the kids with their Bounty Hunter 505.

Kind regards
