New here and thought I should introduce myself. Thank you for letting be be a member here. I own an auto shop and my largest hobby is hardware and software mods/diy stuff. I live in a small town in the United States in Maine 906 residents. My town was once part of green acre plantation back in colonial times. Almost all the land that was homesteads then is now abandoned and littered with bottle dumps and old cellar holes. Got a quasar arm detector that I put together. not easy with most info I find in Russian. I'll be up and running once i figure out how to set my ferrite angle and where to get a piece of ferrite. I mostly used vintage detectors my grandfather had. found a few 1870's dimes with them. Looking forward to sharing my finds and hoping some info may be findable on the quasar arm or newer firmware on this site. still checking out the board index. thank you and happy hunting everyone

Hello Chriswit123,

I don't know much about Quasar, but you can pick up a used Whites for cheap; and it's probably a LOT easier to use. I picked up a Coinmaster 6000/Di Pro for $200.00 in Feebruary of this year.
Came with a carrying case and headphones. I use a 6000/Di Pro SL in the front yard which does pretty good on coins and relics. I use a GMT in the logged off portion of my property with the "rototilled" soil. I'm more of a Whites fan and like the analog units, but this GMT is VERY good! I pick up a lot of trash, but it has an iron detect mode that is very useful. I have picked up small bullet fragments which means, if there was gold about I would have found it. I don't get out frequently as I have repairs to our home I am doing. Plumbing, breaking concrete, some electrical, etc. So I won't post all the time (more likely when it rains as I don't have a cover for my detectors). I know you already have your detector, but Whites got bought out by Garrett and they still have a support page where you can download manuals in English. Or you can go with another unit, up to you. Whites and Garrett are known world wide as qualilty brands.... Hope this was helpful!

BC
