Hi.

I am pretty "new" here, and just learning to navigate through the forum.

P.S. It will be hard at first to make 5 postings in order to become "full member"  Cry

Hi, Powertab.   Welcome to THunting.com.   Bomber is right, it doesn't take long to become a full member.  All you need to do is find a few of the posts that really interest you and add your comments (but please make them relevant and meaningful).  Or if you don't find a thread that interests you, you can always start you're own thread---just try to get it in an appropriate board, or one of the moderators might move it.

Oh, well... Thanks 'bomber'.

I am from Croatia, and no, haven't any MD yet, except something from China for searching wires and other metals in wall prior to drilling it. It can detect wire at about 5 cm max. What a terrible thing. Not useful at all to anything.

I have plan to make my own MD - this is the best way to learn how it works. I am interested in PI detectors, and love simplicity of "Barracuda PI" MD. I have some diagram, but tried to "run" oscillator in CircuitMaker2000, but it not worked. Seems to me that it is easier to buy components and put on breadboard first, then check how it works with O-scope.

For me, electronic is not a problem, but finding components in my country is (sometimes). Recently built pancake GM counter, and it works better than expected. Anyone interested, please look at (huh, not MD related, but still - for searching radioactivity):

Though it is not related with MD, it is related with hunting in nature for natural samples. I feel need for MD, because it is somewhat connected with hunting minerals, metals, rocks and other valuable stuff.

Cheers,
m--

Hi, 'BitburgAggie'.

Well, I am better in working with soldering iron, than typing on keyboard.  Smiley

But, I will try to do my best.

Regards,

PowerLab, I'm obviously not very good with keyboards either, or I wouldn't have misspelled your user name  :Smiley  If you look over at our Prospecting and Minerals board you'll see that most of us have interest beyond metal detecting which we often share here.   I enjoyed the link to the DIY geiger counter.
