New member from central Texas.

Hi findoldstuff.  Thanks for the nice welcome.  One of my favorite parts of this hobby is in the research of history so I sure have a lot of books to share with others that have been very helpful to me over the years.  Currently, I have a stack of more than a dozen old books about Jesse W. James that I need to read and take notes from for our Bloody Bill Anderson Mystery group.  I've been told that Nathan Bedford Forest was a fascinating character so I intend to read up on him when I get a break.  I began treasure hunting 40 years ago this year.  Gee, how time flies!  The first book I remember that really fueled my interest and gave me a case of incurable treasure hunting fever was J. Frank Dobie's "Coronado's Children".  Then, I bought every new issue of True Treasure magazine by Long John Latham as soon as they hit the store shelves.  In the next few days, I will post the titles and authors of some of the books that will interest you and other members in the proper thread that I have read.

Hello Texas Jay and welcome to the forum. I also bought "Shadow of the Sentinel" and found it fascinating. I contacted Bob Brewer and tried to get some more info. Unfortunately his wife told me that Bob is losing his eyesight and doesn't write any more. I'm really surprised that he does not go out and dig up more KGC depositories.

Thank you all for the kind words of welcome.  It may take me awhile but I will do my best to answer the questions you asked in upcoming weeks.  I thoroughly enjoy this website already.  Keeping up with the many interesting daily contributions from you all, it seems, can become an "obsession" too.
