Hi all!

I have been fascinated by the world of metal detecting for years however I never quite got round to purchasing a detector myself...

I have now been given what I think is an old Guartel MD2000 that was found in a house clearance!!! I got it home to find the battery was useless so I purchased a new one waited 10 days for it to arrive and the light came on! It must work I thought I ran out to the garden through a few coins in the grass and didn't hear a beep!!! (I am pretty sure that's because I had no headphones) but I thought the box may have some kind of speaker built in?

Please can anyone tell me where I can get a 3-pin headphone jack from or an adapter?

I hope the pictures help?

There is also hardly any info on this machine online apart from a really old post on here which lead to more questions than answers? Is it really military?

I cannot upload photos from my iPhone but this is the same model...?

Welcome to the forum.
We need a photo of the socket.
Please take a clear pic on day light and post it on the forum.
There are many tech members here, someone will be able to help.
To post a photo you need to re-size it first.
you can find the software to do that here.

Hi Scott, and Welcome from Utah! Out here in the US, we have Radio Shack stores where you could get a headphone adapter. Sounds like your unit likely has the larger (older) style of 1/4" plug? Occasionally Wal-Mart may possibly have those. But, you can also check with a stereo store which may have one too. I'm sure you could just walk in with the unit into the store to get help too?

Also for uploading your pictures... Are you posting/viewing your threads via a computer? If so, maybe you could download your pictures to your computer, then post them from there? Just a thought.
HH

Better yet, buy head phone with the 1/4 "   connector.   They do not fall apart as fast.
