I hail from North Texas so I know what hunting in the wind is! Love the "sport" and the antisapation of what is causing that "beep". The area isn't as old as some areas so late 1800s is about as old as we can expect. No beachs to speak of and 99% of the land is private help so lots of door knocking to hunt the older parts of town. Good luck to all and hope to see some good stuff here.
Jim

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I just started this myself and I wish you happy hunting. Great history in the Great State of Texas.
I love the state.

Well we put in a couple hours at the backstop field just north of an older school. It will be my 5 hunt there and about 175 coins later still finding coins. I got 51 more today. 15 quarters, 14 dimes, 8 nickels, and 14 pennies. But so far I have 5 wheats, 1 63 rosie, silver ring and a real nice Saint Christopher both sterling. So three silvers out of one field is good for me. My partner got a silver ring as well yesterday so tha's four keepers. So it pays to look for the unmolested places LOL I am thru about 2/3 of the area and will keep going until I cover the whole field. It seems to be a late 60s early 70s looking at coin age distribution. To bad not 10-20 years older!
