Thanks again. Truthfullly, I think the ACE 250 goes a little deeper then the PRIZM 4. Some times I will go over somthing, and he will go over it to see what his reads, and sometimes his doesnt pick it up. Even if he didnt descriminate anything. I think his is a little more accurate as far as the display goes. If his reads a quarter, or a nicle, dime, ect. 99% of the time thats what it is. Mine seems to be a little on the jumpy side, but been finding out when it jumps its junk. It has to be a solid beep consistant, to be what it shows on the display. The ACE likes to read coin, then foil, then coin, then foil. I find thats mostly junk.

Like you said, foil to coin is junk.  However, gold can be read as foil sometimes.  Though, it is just up to you what disc. mode you want to work in.  I used to work in jewelery mode, now I do All Metal mode.  I dig most my signals, and usually I have developed a knack for telling if it is junk or not.  Just rarely, I get a bit of a surprise.  I can usually tell if the object is a coin if it reads coin, and back that up by swingin' the detector and finding out its size and shape.  I am usually right, but there are sometimes when its a washer or some other round disc shape object.

Hope ya find it useful here!! Oh, and dig all pull tabs!! I do!!

Hay Saltfisher,

Welcome from Arkansas.

You said;

"been finding out when it jumps its junk."

Wrong,,,,  But you are right for the most part. A diamond ear ring
will almost for sure register as trash. But some folks say it is too
much trouble. That is good for the rest of us.

It has to be a solid beep consistant, to be what it shows on the
display."

Just think,,,, GOLD IS ALL OVER YOUR DISPLAY. It may jump too.

It is just not as common as pull tabs and hair pins.

If I am in a good place, I will not cull out much. Dig it until you
are sure with out a doubt what it is. That is what I suggest.

But, we are all free to learn it how we feal like. That is one of
the nice things. We are our own boss.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog
