Go Up Go Down

Hello Everyone,

When I was about 11 years old I bought a metal detector with some of my lawnmowing money. It was a wand type security metal detector, but that didn't stop me. I attached a pvc pipe to it and I was in business searching all the parks and local beaches in Huntington, Indiana. I dug up a ton of pull tabs. but then I found a Morgan Silver dollar!

I never forgot that thrill. Even as I grew up and expereinced new things, few events in my life compared to finding that silver dollar. (Well...can't compare that to discovering girls....but you know what I mean)

I have lived in Japan for the last 25 years.  Ever since I graduated from my University.  I am now located in Okinawa.  The lovely beaches got me thinking about metal detecting again, and I bought a Garrett GTI 1500.  I have been hunting a lot in the last two weeks, even waking up at 3:00 AM to be at the beach at first light.  So far I have found a bunch of clad Japanese coins, two silver US coins and a silver ring.

I would love to meet other treasure hunters on the Island. Stay Well, Dr. Ron Dutcher
