Minelab Safari & the Garrett 250
« on: May 28, 2009, 10:01:57 pm »
Go Up Go Down

Just wanted to introduce myself.  I live in Southwest Florida and enjoy hunting for buried treasure.  When I get tired of tromping through the swamp, I hit the beach.  I hunt with a Minelab Safari and I also have a Garret 250.  Great web site!!! Great

Hello Dave,

the Safari sure would be superior to your Garrett Ace 250. However the Garrett Ace 250 should give you a decent start as it is a recommended beginner detector. If you enjoy thsi great hobby you can head for a better machine any time. The better machine the better your results will be most of the time!

Best wishes,

Christian

If you have been hunting with anything less than a Safari and you are going to buy one, just be prepared to dig, dig, dig.  The major difference between my Garrett 250 and my minelab Safari is the depth.  If you don't already have a pinpointer, get one.  You will be so tired from digging that it will just make your life easier.

Sounds like a mean machine.

I will stick to my 2 pound machines.

Besides, I do not care to dig that deep.

I am too old and delapidated.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

greetings from Minnesota!
I love the Ace 250...light and really finds the goodies! Had to get the propointer...great investment!

Course, after getting hooked on detecting, when a deal came along I upgraded to the Garrett GTI2500...haven't regretted any spending yet!
