Our 2 week trip to the Golden Triangle in Victoria.

Gooday all.Just come back from spending a few weeks in the Golden Triangle in Victoria.The weather was a bit chilly, but the ground was perfect for digging.Spent most of the first week in and around Bendigo, and places like Whipstick [quiet, peaceful, and wet, and no luck whatsoever].Tried a few other sites, as noted in the Gold and Relic books by Doug Stone, but no luck there either.All in all, we [my wife and I], got some good exercise, but none of the YELLOW stuff.Next, we went to Ballarat, and the same as Bendigo [quiet, peaceful and wet], but we enjoyed the whole experience, because we are still learning the art of detecting, and enjoying it very much.It is good fun, we get a lot of healthy exercise [better than sitting at home watching the giggle box], and we meet quite a lot of very interesting people both Detectorists and holiday makers.We are planning for the next trip, possibly somewhere in our own state, or another state. We did join a Detecting club here in South Australia last year, and have been given a lot of very good advice.Anyway, that's it for now, so until we have had our next enjoyable adventure, hope you all have some luck, and remember, it is all good fun, even better when you find that elusive nugget.

Welcome to the forum
Is just a matter of time before you come across some of the yellow stuff.
If you can survive a week at Whipstick’s with this weather you can do anything.
But next time be careful when there. It's a national park and I pretty sure most of it is a No NO for metal detecting.

Thank you to the members who replied to our forum about our trip to Bendigo and Ballarat.
We did have a lovely time sightseeing as well, not having been to either city before.
The people were very nice, the surrounding areas we visited were great as well.
We [my wife and I], both have Miners Rights and we bought 3 or 4 of Doug Stones Gold and Relic finder books, so we knew where we could do some locating without upsetting anyone.
We will be going back for more detecting and exploring very soon, possibly around Maryborough, Laanecoorie, Dunnolly, just to try our luck.
