No that's my board Carl and trust me no shorts, I'll burn a new board if this one proves to be a good working board but for now it will be with the patch work on it  Grin

You know if you look at several different schematics of Tesoro , all of them have a zener diode 1n746 and a 1n4148 diode in series connected to the transmit coil [tx] and to the pnp collector of 2n2907a .  The schematics of the machines that only are designed for all metal mode the diodes are omitted .  The Diodes serve a purpose and were engineered by Tesoro and were on the original circuit boards and schematics.  The detectors worked perfect .  And then over the years certain people like from "BG" Land took them out .   Now we are back to our discussion again about schematics changing and all these "light versions" that builders have trouble with .
The Notch control was a good thing to have if it is working correctly [Sharp Notch is good] not wide .  The notch is missing on some of these light versions.

Yes on the one that I have the notch is missing, do you have the schematic with the notch that you could post for us?

Don't see how it's going to work with those acid burned thru lands at the bottom of the board unless you have jumpers on the other side of the board that are not visible in the photo.

Note that there was not even a voltage regulator or any of the caps in the first photo.

I know it doesn't look all that professional yet, but have you gotten it to work yet?

Xavier and everyone here are the 1989 or 1990 Original Files .   You can study these to help with any problems on your construction .

I have all the Transistors , resistors, capacitors and diodes to build this but I do not have all the IC chips .

I got this from Russian Forum and they say it work's great !!!  They showed pictures of the finds too , at a pretty good depth .

15 khz is a very good operating frequency !!!
There are 7 more files and folders but they must be converted to Zip and or Jpeg ,  No BMPS allowed !!!  LOL

I think I will put the whole Zip-file in the Download area and it's called "Golden Sabre with notch Control" !!  2.4 Megabytes total .

Here are the 6 files below and a Great Extra Picture called Stress ?  What Stress ?   LOL

Best Regards..............Eugene

No Carl I was feeling under the weather these past few days so did not do much on it, I do have a voltage issue with the -5v yet all looks good and I've never had that problem before, think this is becoming contagious LOL

Thanks for the photos and schematic Eugene, much appreciate it.

Sorry that I am unable to help you with health issues, but I am quite willing to help with your board problem if you so desire.

I'm going to disconnect the -5v from the rest of the circuit then measure it again, if I have the -5v then I know that the problem is on the -5v track but if I still have an issue then I'll know that the problem is within the -5v circuit.
