Go Up Go Down

I noticed him moving in the distance on what I believed was barren ground. I watched from a great viewpoint and he was oblivious to me following his every move.
To me he was wasting his time as he moved left, then circled back to continue towards my advantaged position. The ground was reddish yellow with nothing of interest apart from many criss crossing dry creek beds . He crossed and doubled back countless times but in general was heading my way. No way could he have seen me watching I thought.
He followed one particularly deep dry bed and it appeared he could not climb the sides to get out of it. He paused, took a few awkward steps back and paused again and then slowly moved on.
I noted that place and wondered what was so interesting in that spot .I would certainly check it out later. I lost sight of him for a while then noticed how he was back on the flat file like surface and still forging ahead towards me.
As my interest grew I wondered where he was from as the many times that I had sat in this same position I had never encountered anything like it. Was he lost or perhaps gone crazy with the lack of companionship.
He was out of sight now and I leant forward to get a better view and spotted him trying to climb the slippery base of my high up advantage point. He slumped to the hard surface beneath him and lay motionless. Slowly his head moved side to side as if he could smell something in this barren place.
Up to now I thought he had selected a shitty place to find gold and hoped he would turn back and go to his camp or home.
He poked around at the base of my viewing platform then seemed to go off with something, travelling more directly now. [It was as if he somehow read my thoughts and decided to pack it in.
I was by now getting uncomfortable sitting there all that time but as I was about to move I noticed in the distance he had some mates greet him and they were waving their arms and pointing towards my sitting place.
More arrived and they quickly walked towards me.
My wife's shouting at me to hurry up woke me from my all consuming trance with the now group of prospectors.
I awoke to see that the "prospectors" were ants and that I was sitting on the porcelain toilet, staring at the tiled floor.

Am I going crazy with this isolating at home.

Go Up Go Down

THAT is one of the most UNIQUE and utterly satisfying introductions that I think I have ever seen  Kiss   You should fit in well with this group.
