hello my freinds
please I need help about the TM 808 locator

1-is the loop of the locator a tube or bar of aluminum"Imean there is agape inside the loop or it's just abar of aluminumand what is its diameter?
2-how to contruct the TX and RX inductors witch dimensions of the ferrite toroide core and how many turns for each loop?
3-how to measure its inductance with or without loops ?
4-how to measure the frequency of TX abd RX?
5-is the control box and the frame must be made of aluminum ir just any material?
6-whatis the best replacement for Ics?

thank you very much

Coil Shield tubing.  Yes there should be a gap within the housing just as any VLF Shield.

2-how to contruct the TX and RX inductors witch dimensions of the ferrite toroide core and how many turns for each loop?   I have NO Clue on this.  I don't see but one Toride in the schematic and it's not in the coils.

3-how to measure its inductance with or without loops ?  Assuming your talking about the Tx and Rx Coils ?  Use a coil calculator plug in the known Frequency and associated Capacitors if you can find what they are.  Not Labled on Schematic..  Look what I found.

"Hello Critterhunter . The whites QXT Quantum runs at 6.59 khz . And as you already know the 950 coil specs are:
1. TX is 540 uh [micro-henry] and a dc resistance of 1.4 ohms on connector pins 4,5
2. RX is 36 mh [milli-henry] and a dc resistance of 122.8 ohms on connector pins 1,2 "

Now you know the Coil Parameters.  Use a Coil Calculator to find number of turns for your given coil size.

4-how to measure the frequency of TX abd RX?  :See Below

Tx Freq is generated by 26.37 Osc.  Then divided by CD4024 by 4 times.    26.37Khz / 4  = 6.5925Khz.   A standard Whites VLF Frequency.  There will be a offset of a few hundred Hertz  on the Rx like most VLF detectors.  I'll leave that up to you to figure out.  Hint:  It's on the Net.

5-is the control box and the frame must be made of aluminum ir just any material?  Aluminum would be advised.  Circuits need to be shielded.

6-what is the best replacement for Ics?  No Need to change any.  All Available.
