Please post a photo of the top of your board, it may help us a bit. The neg wire has to go to ground that would be where you have all the copper, is there a fuse on the board? if so then that's where the pos needs to go.

Ok, I took some closer pictures of the back of the circuit board, and at different angles.  Hopefully these will help.  Thanks again.

In doing some research I discovered that Tesoro manufactured that machine. Call them for help.

Hello all...I have a working Shadow X2, and a broken X3. I really like the X2. I called the factory that built the X3 and they were no help. So in my trails to find help I found this forum. If I can get my X2 apart without breaking i could post pics. Maybe I could get my X3 to work too. These detectors were made by two different builders, Fisher made the X3, Tesoro made the X2. The X3 runs at the same freq. as the Gold Bug 2.

Why do you need to break it? Try looking inside the battery compartment. Sometimes under the batteries there are a couple of screws to disassemble it. Or, check under a label. It's always very apparent when a label has been peeled and that indicates a warranty voided. Look carefully and you will no doubt find the key to unlock your box without damaging it.
